This is one tired, old, and soon to be lonely truck. Its a 06 DT International. It had poor oil pressure when I got it, and since the maintenance records were incomplete I had a hissy fit til they had enough and did a PM. Last night I noted the pressure dropping into the low 30's under load and only 12 at idle.
After looking online I found a cornucopia of info on what might be wrong, yet no acceptable operational ranges. Any assistance would be appreciated.

John Echo New Member. Everytime I pull over, I stop the engine, pop the hood and I can see the coolant boiling but the water temperature gauge doesn't go over degrees. I had it in 3different Volvo dealerships, they replaced The EGR cooler, they tested the truck but didn't get any error on the computer. They also changed the thermostat. About a month ago I had the water pump replaced, the coolant tank and all the hoses and I have no leak whatsoever.
Probably not related, but I also get a message on dashboard saying 'tractor front parking light open circuit' and other Check lights messages. I have no issues when bobtailing.
Any ideas on what the problem might be? Thank you. Mike Well-Known Member Staff member. Some bubbline around in the radiator would be normal. Are you positive that this is a coolant related issue, or just going by what you are seeing from the coolant? Are you losing any coolant in the process? Sounds to me like there could be an issue with a wire shoring out somewhere when the driveline is under a heavy load causing maximum torque.
I'm not sure it is a coolant problem. I have no idea what the problem is. I was just trying to write as much information as I can. I'm not losing any coolant and I'm running out of time and money. All the Volvo guys are telling me the truck is OK Is there any test I can ask them to perform or anything I can do? Moonpie Well-Known Member. Might try dumping the air from your airbags and see if there are any wiring near to moving parts or the frame.
Just an Idea. Has the truck ever shut down on you, or is it just the light? Are you losing any power? Does fuel level matter? I got ahold of some crappy fuel and went through fuel filters in a short period of time.
Having no codes though leads me to believe that you might have a wiring issue though. No test for that other than to spend any extra time you have following every section of the wiring harness and looking for a bare wire somewhere.Your question may be answered by sellers, manufacturers, or customers who purchased this item, who are all part of the Amazon community.
